I know because flashing the BIOS on my similar board cured all my woes. They’ve posted up pics of their cards so you can see what it looks like. Jan 20, Posts: It has to be faulted for that. I am unaware of any patch through.

Regarding your HSF’s on the Voodoo 5: Flashing the BIOS is simple. I like them alot. I had a Tbird system myself, and the KT7A non-raid edition was my first board.
I imagine it must be terribly noisy with the two blowers. Provided that they already have a solid KT motherboard design, producing a KTA solution often requires little more than a few design tweaks and a drop in of the pin-compatible A North Bridge.
VIA should have made sure everyone with one of their afflicted boards knows about it and how to fix it, by issuing a big public announcement and making sure every hardware site under the sun has a sounf about the fix.
All newer BIOSes after the problems were identified used less aggressive default settings in order to eliminate the instability and abti data corruption problems. Unfortunately for me, I found that option a few years too late for my V5 cards.

I run one on a P Coppermine and the other on a Celeron Still didn’t change a thing, it just couldn’t handle the Tbird I thought you’d already done that, or I would’ve suggested it I always flash my BIOSes first thing when I get a new motherboard unless I’ve abig of problems with the latest BIOS – usually it’s a “can’t hurt” situation Personally, I have told FIVE people, six if your system remains stable [crosses fingers and throws salt over shoulder], with similar motherboards and instability problems about the problem and to fix it with a BIOS flash, who have flashed their BIOSes and reported the problems gone.
Jul 13, Posts: I have upload the update into a. I figure the heatsink is so large that 2 or 3 missing fins won’t affect its performance anyway. I don’t know about that Sample Check Error, I have never seen it abjt. Also, as others have mentioned, ABIT used abig crapacitors on their products.
The only one of my KT7A boards that ever gave me problems was my original v1. It’s a well-known issue with the B southbridge. qbit

Zound can find products similar to this one for sale below. The problem is, now when I try to get onto the internet to do anything, The computer freezes after about a minute online. Beyond that I would recommend a stronger PSU. I am scared that the fault is maybe due to the processor which is an Athlon K7. Here’s the setup shown below.

Did you just update the bios from abit-usa. In the right hand picture we can see the IDE connector layout.
